Design Trend: Lime (in the Coconut)

I've just returned from the Spring International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina and I have a report (in progress) of trends I saw, some I like, some I don't... but of course, LIME was everywhere - from traditional showrooms, country, cottage, recycled materials, modern, retro, ...everywhere.

While I compile my High Point Trend #HPmkt report, here are some more lime pics for inspiration.....and, a song to go with! I have had this song running through my head since Lime came on the scene.

Original ARTIST: Harry Nilsson, TITLE: Coconut, Lyrics and Chords (you may recognize it from Reservoir Dogs), alternate listening options:

Lyrics

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime

She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

Now let me get this straight
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you called your doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Now let me get this straight

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both up
You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both up
You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both down
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' you can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you said
Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you say

Yeah-ah, ain't there nothing I can take, I say
Wow-ow, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the mo-o-ornin'

Yes, you call me in the morning
If you call me in the morning I'll tell you what to do {repeat to fade}

Three Ways With Green from Bright Bazaar

The botanical trend is one of the key themes to come out of the latest collections (seen most strongly in H&M Home's spring/summer offering) and so I felt it would useful to look at different ways with green. It's a colour that has grown in favour with me over the past few months (perhaps it's the onset of spring?) and so I was delighted to see the colour take center stage in the colour supplement inside the April issue of Ideal Home. Whilst I like the block effect given by the half papered wall in the Bright Green scheme, I'm going to trump for Dark Green as my top scheme - those glossy, emerald, jewel-like titles are beautiful. Which way with green would you choose?
